We do not charge customers deposits to secure units. We also do not charge for use of the padlock so you can rest knowing there are no hidden fees.
4 weeks is the minimum rental period. There is no limit on how long you can rent a storage unit from us and you can pay in advance for up to 52 weeks.
Our containers never leak or experience condensation because they are new and water-tight. We have many customers who store water sensitive items in their storage units such as furniture and electronics and they have no problems, this has been the case for years.
Think about almost everything that is imported into Ireland and the UK from overseas which journeys in a shipping container. Furniture, clothing, machine parts, domestic goods, computers, machine goods, mobile phones – all begin their journey to the UK in a shipping container.
If the container is kept dry inside, there will be no condensation. We also have ventilation in all of our units to combat this issue. However, if someone brings waterlogged or wet items into the unit, this will cause condensation issues because this water is trapped in the unit. Therefore, please make sure that all of your items such as fridges/freezers and washing machines are entirely dry prior to placing them into the storage unit.
Storage LK has very few limitations on what you can store, there are of course a few exceptions and its obvious to see why these items can not be stored. Our terms & conditions will tell you the exact items you cannot store which include fire arms, explosives, counterfeit or stolen goods, compressed oils and gases, flammable gases and liquids. If you are unsure about an item and need clarification, please call one of our storage experts who will be delighted to help.
We take the matter of security very seriously, along with our automatic gates and 24-hour CCTA, we offer high security steel padlocks which are designed to fit tightly under the steel lock box on our units. Using the padlock given is one of the conditions of using our storage, however, there is also space for you to add your own additional security padlock along with the one we provide if you wish. The padlocks we provide are free of charge. We simply ask that you leave them inside the empty storage unit when you vacate.
When you book a storage unit online, you can pay through our secure payment page. If you would rather a different payment method, you can call and speak with one of our storage experts who can take your payment over the phone. This payment will secure your storage unit for the first four weeks (unless you have chosen an introductory offer in which case your first payment will cover the first 8 weeks or more).
Every 28 days (4 weeks), we will invoice you in advance and your invoice will be emailed to you in advance before the due date. These payments will be taken automatically every 28 days (4 weeks) from the card you nominated on your first payment.
You do not have to provide us notice before you move out. Simply, tell us before your next payment is due and we will cancel your subscription. Ensure you tell us before that payment takes place as we do not refund rent that is paid in advance.
Along with any promotional offers we provide occasionally, customers who want to prepay in advance for 26 and 52 weeks will automatically qualify for a prepay discount of 10% and 15%. If you want a specific long-term discount and to vacate early, we are not able to refund any of your unused rent. We will also still need notice of your intention to vacate.
We do require that you have insurance in place to cover the items in your storage unit. We can offer you a fully comprehensive self-storage policy for the small price of €1 per week, for €1,000 worth of cover. If you decide to do this, you will need to complete an inventory of all the belongings kept in your storage unit.
We totally understand that your storage needs may change over time and that is exactly why we off our customers flexible contracts so that they can shrink or grow your storage requirements as needed. An email or phone call is all that is needed to enable a transfer.
